ho hum. today’s theme is ’slow.’

Saturday, May 27th, 2006

wow, car mechanics that work for insurance companies are slow as johnny mcslowpants*!
but at least we have the beast back.
and i’m having lots of fun driving under adverse conditions.
like last night - blindness.
hammering down with rain, windows misted up and fan blowy things not really helping.

anyhoo, p’s job hunt is getting off the ground a bit.
just seems like cape town companies move slowly.
aside: i’d forgotten how hot she looks in office clothes. mmm…

i’ve been up to some webbing. in a way.
i made this!.
kind of. the content is nowt to do with me, but the design is mostly mine.
i wanted it to look like this (one page sample).
which, personally, i think is much nicer.
but, they’re happy and they’re paying me in wine :D .

in other news, max really has to get out there and take some new shots.
sheesh, get your act together, bru!
at least some people are still posting good stuff! :)

the cops found the car.*
not really mashed up.
just the ignition and the driver side door lock need replacing**.
oh, and they took the radio.
so, the car’s back. but it no drive, so we don’t have it.

the insurance bods have been called in.
not sure how this is going to play out.
they may (or may not) fix it for us.
and from their attitude on the phone today, it may take some time.

but, big woo-yay-houpla in helen and richard’s direction for lending us a car for this week! :D
saves us money on rental cars. this, we like.

* - which resulted in another of those weird mornings that we’ve been having lately - get up a lot earlier than normal, drive for miles, spend an hour or so doing strange things that involve many (many, many) forms, drive miles back, feel like you’ve had a day’s hard work already, open shop at 10 am as usual.
** - again! we did this a few months ago, dammit!
