I just met Christopher Eccleston.
He liked Teh Shop.

Woo!
I mean: Who!

Since Thursday last week, we have fed people Thai food every day.
And only one repeat dish - fried rice with bacon and green beans (and crispy garlic, of course).
Vintage curry doesn’t count.
Mostly the food was tasty.
This pleases me.

We’ve also had far too much gin and seen seven (7) groups of friends.

I like this kind of busy…

and it makes me happy.
and no that’s not a euphemism.
or is it?

so, we’re in new house now - is cool.
literally.
it’s got that un-lived-in coldness. but we’re fixing that.
our departure from the snug happy place that is Doc and Eck’s was unfortunately marred by the evil that is burglary.

our stuff that’s gone is, of course, bigly overshadowed by the stuff that they lost (computers! two! fuck! buggery!), and even more by the fact that it seems like the insurance company won’t put out (bastards!), but we did lose stuff.
Jo lost her awesome leather jacket¹, I lost my groovy backpack², I lost my DS³ with The World Ends With You⁴ in it.

There were a few other tiny bits of luck, too.
I spent the day at Jo’s offices, so I had my laptop, my driver’s license and my main credit card with me (shop card and wallet⁵ were at house, though).
They left my favourite (old, film) camera, the Rolleiflex. Not exactly irreplaceable, but it would have been a real downer.
They also left the ipod mini⁶. Perhaps they didn’t like the electric blue colour?
Lastly, we left Jo’s office at 4 and were on our way back to Casa Evil, but decided due to traffic woes to stop off at the new house for a while. This made us miss either us interrupting them or them interrupting us. Yay.

Ho hum.

Hot damn, that was a week of Teh Busy in the extreme.
Partially my fault, sort of, though.
I refuse to work outside of office hours except in extreme circumstances, which means my 9 to 5 (which is actually, technically, more like 8.30 to 6) can be busy.
Very busy.

Too many projects on the go at once at the moment.
But, we need the money.

The house is all systems go, and the movers are moving on Friday.
Well, are systems are more like “Go! Go! Go! Shit, hurry up, man!”
However, the house is looking awesome, despite tiling troubles (more details you-know-where).

Had a very nice shindig in miniature last night for Parfait’s company’s winter conference thingy.
They’re 0 for 2 on picking DJs that can follow “don’t play Afrikaans pop” instructions, though.
I’ll be having nightmares for weeks…
