tiles, blue and red

(i seem to keep starting haiku in my head. why is that?)

so, the paint-a-thon continues – lots of the house done, inside and out.
i’ll take some pics, in daylight, at the weekend.

the tiler dudes are in at the moment, observe their work in progress:

kitchen o’ doom, tiles o’ red

bathroom: sinking, showering and bathing.

( i even managed to sneakily sneak in a sneaky shot of the doors again :-) )

Jo drew a diagram and sent it to the builder bods.
I think it is awesome.
Here it is…

doors! lights! sinks!

(but without the actual sink part of the sinks)

after what feels like ages – kitchen doors! with glass, even.
(the carpenter had health-related problems, hence the delay.)
we like them. they look ace.

some spot light action (tiltage of all lights to follow):
kitchen (pictured: future home of cooker and bench things);
lounge (scaffolding: to be spray-painted gold and accessorised with tiny disco balls, obv.);
study (parfait: seen here herding the rowdy paint tins. they go a bit mental after hours…).

observe the reading spot light spot thing spot in the bay window. spot.
groovy.

that sinky feeling in the kitchen and the bathroom (tiles to be tiled on top in tip top time).

doors, but no doorsmoved it, moved itshower!

1: we can almost has doors!
2: we can almost has tiled counter top and sink!

to follow soon-ish: pictures of the lights.
of especially funishness – reading light in ceiling of bay window.
try and entertain yourselves until then… (-_-)

Me, too

I don’t have any fancy pictures. Stv will do this.

However: The important things to note are

- Wrenschovations are going great!

- Builderman nice. Efficient. Capable.

[Point, case: We discovered a window was put in slightly off-center. We thought "Damn. Window off centre. We can probably live with that...." I called builderman and said "Um... window slightly off centre... we can probably live with it..." He said, "No no no. We are going to have to move the window." Window now moved. Like that, see?]

- All the walls are gone! and it feels really great. Good wall-smashing decisions, yes!

- Tiles bought. Ice-blue glass mosaics for bathroom, wine-red glass mosaics for (a tiny bit) of the kitchen.

- Electrician has come and angle ground shafts in walls. There are now plug-shaped holes everywhere. It is awesome.

Altogether, woot, yay, woot!

(Another picture post.
Click to embiggen, as usual…)

Found a shadow monster in the garden…

grah!

Jo swimming in the pool, now roofless braai area at the back; smashed corner (woot!), we can haz open plan; much lighter bedroom (now that the cupboards are painted white).

And, finally, obligatory rubble-in-driveway shot.
