I was in a bit of a rut with work and with my workspace specifically, so a lot of researching and experimenting, I decided to ditch my old set-up and get some new stuff.
Still a work in progress (need to get boards back up, set cable tidy thing, etc) but:

I am very happy with it! It feels nice to work on.
I’m on a bit of a zen-type kick: trying to simplify things a lot, trying to get rid of stuff. It is… soothing.

In other, much greener, news: garden!
The keurboom is shooting up all of a sudden: it’s topping 2m at the moment.

The succulent bed, and the garden in general, has also asploded (note photo assist from Meep):

Looking good in the garden… :)

Al fresco (later) and Solar (now)

We have some new bits around the house.

Outside table made for us from re-used old bits of Oregon pine by the lovely folks at The Woodstocker at Altona:

Can’t wait until it gets sunny again and we can eat outside :).
Nicer chairs to follow…

Also, yesterday: Solar geyser installed. Huzzah!
A deep, meaningful, interesting picture of the thingy on the roof:

And it works! :D

Dining Room pictures

These went up a while ago, but I forgot to snap a picture.
A work in progress.
All hard work by Jo.

Top left: photo of mine. Frame is… a thing. With a handle.
Top right: a postcard from the excellent Sweaty Face. Frame bought from Milnerton flea market.
Bottom right: A photo of mine, customised with excellence by Parfles. Has to be seen close up to be fully appreciated :). Frame from t’market.

Things are shooting up at a mad pace, thusly:

Also: mirrors!
The back wall o’ mirrors continues to expand.

Newest addition is the two-piecer. Very shiny!

Say allo to the aloe(s) in the barrow :D :

(Notice the very clean stones on the ground)

Latest addition to the office – glass to be used as whiteboard-y thing:

To follow, maybe: photo behind it.

Pretty!

Flowers!
In the front garden.

Garden updates

Oops!
Took these photos at least a week ago, but things have been a bit mental around here what with new floors and ceiling insulation and new curtains.
In time-honoured teaser style I bring you photos of none of this but instead: plants! (Pics of awsome dark red cinema curtains and stuff to follow)

Kitchen succulent thingies:

(Blue) Feet and sheep:

Tail tail plant (At Rest and In Action)

Nutterbut!

Last but not least: Birdcage. In tree. with Catnip in.

Corks!

Now snuggly nuzzling above the cooker.
Construction by Jo.
Corks by many friends. And us.

In other news: things are afoot in Casa Wrensch.
We are prepping for winter by having Mr Lovely Curtain Guy in (both him and his curtains are Lovely) throwing curtains up all around the lounge.
Last winter was a little bit chilly.

We are also having Cool Builder Guy come back to do various little things.
Nothing as epic as the original renovations – just some fix-ups and stuff. Mainly the dry-rotted floor (mutter, grumble).

Forgotten fig and Washer of Dishes

Oops, forgot to shoot the fig:
fig
It’s only ickle, but it’s got loads of figlings.

On Saturday morning we heralded the arrival of the Dish Washing Fairy:
DWF
Long may it live in our house.

Plants! Loads of them. New ones.

Ambassador Kosh. Hallway plant extraordinaire:

Ficus. Was unhappy in the front garden, so we put it in a red thing. Now it happy :) .

Frangipani. Came to the house as a leafless stick, from Casa Tanya (thanks!)

Two new climby jobbies – on the tree, and on the pergola (Wisteria o’ Doom! Growing at a sillyfast pace).

Middle of the succulent patch, finally filled: yay!

Close-up of the amazing airbabymaker:

Along the edges of the leaves, it grows little babies. The babies grow roots, then they fall off and plunge the roots into the ground. They grow up so fast… *sniff*

The Amazing Miracle Tree TM:

Hopefully Parfles will correct me if I’m wrong, but this thing is about a year old and it’s already over 2m tall. Holy leafy goodness, Batman!

And now for some furniture.
2nd-hand bench, painted and shinied by Parfles:

Beautiful (and comfortable) bench bought for us by Eck (thank you!):

Screen for outside shower, made from old shutters, painted and installed by Parfles, with unexpected finishing help from Jean, on Sunday.

Apologies for the low-level commentary.
Work crazy!
Me crazy!
Mad people crazy!
It’s crazy!
